🍅 Salad Shirazi originated in the city of Shiraz, in southern Iran. This herby, tangy tomato salad is served as a refreshing accompaniment to khoresht (stews) and grilled meats, especially in the summer.

4 cups watermelon (~½ of a medium-sized watermelon), peeled and cut into 2-inch cubes

We just got back from Montego Bay and are sharing a Caribbean classic. Our Rice and Peas deliver on bold island flavor! Creamy, spicy and hearty, it’s our favorite rice-and-peas dish hands down. Best yet, it is a simple one-pot meal that requires little active cooking.

𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦
½ medium onion, chopped
5 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon ginger, minced
3 green onions, chopped, plus more to garnish
1 cup of dried red kidney beans, soaked overnight [or substitute two 14-oz can red kidney beans]
2 cups long grain white rice, rinsed and drained
1 (14-oz) can coconut milk
5 sprigs of thyme
2 bay leaves
½ teaspoon ground allspice
1 whole Scotch bonnet (or substitute 1 whole habanero)
2 cups vegetable broth
2 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper

🛒 Since its opening in 2020, Vegan Budin’s claim to be the most massive vegan grocery store on the planet has gone undisputed. But the almost 6,000 items sold there lay groundwork for the claim.

They’ve got a freezer section with vegan meat substitutes, pre-prepared meals, and ice cream. There’s also a refrigerated section with fresh produce, vegan dairy, vegan eggs, and things like kimchi. In the aisles, you’ll find dry goods (pasta, beans, nuts, cereals, breads), condiments, and supplements.
